Privacy Policy

TL;DR

  • Camera images are processed locally and never leave your device.
  • We collect anonymous crash reports to fix bugs.
  • We collect anonymous product analytics (opt-out available in app settings).
  • We validate your license using a generated machine ID.
  • We do not sell your data.

1. Local Processing (Camera & Hands)

Airpoint is designed with privacy as a prerequisite. All camera input, hand tracking, and gesture recognition is processed 100% locally on your device.

We technically cannot see your room, your face, or your hands. No video feed or image data is ever transmitted to our servers or any third party.

2. Data We Collect

While the core functional data stays local, we do collect minimal technical data to ensure the app works correctly and is licensed properly.

2.1 Licensing & Entitlements

To validate your Airpoint Pro license or trial, the app communicates with our license server. We transmit:

  • License Key: The code you purchased.
  • Machine ID: A randomly generated UUID (e.g. a1b2-c3d4...) stored in your system keychain. This is used to count active devices (limit 3) and is not linked to your hardware serial numbers.
  • App Version: To ensure compatibility.

2.2 Crash Reporting & Diagnostics

We use Sentry to collect automatic error reports when the app crashes or encounters a severe bug. This helps us fix issues quickly. These reports include:

  • Stack Traces: Which line of code failed.
  • Device Information: OS version (e.g. macOS 14.2), App version, and available memory.
  • IP Address: Logged temporarily for security and abuse prevention, but not stored permanently with your profile.

2.3 Auto-Updates

The app periodically checks downloads.airpoint.app for new versions. This request reveals your IP address to our content delivery network (Cloudflare) as part of standard web traffic logs.

2.4 Anonymous Product Analytics

Airpoint may send anonymous product analytics events (for example app opens, onboarding completion, tracking start, and update availability) to help us improve reliability and UX.

  • No camera/video content: We never transmit camera frames or images.
  • No raw hardware identifiers: IDs are anonymized before storage.
  • Opt-out: You can disable anonymous analytics in desktop settings at any time.

3. Third-Party Services

  • Stripe: Payment processing. We never see or store your full credit card number.
  • Sentry: Error tracking (as described above).
  • Vercel/AWS: Cloud infrastructure for our API and website.
